If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you’ll know I like to keep things simple. I appreciate it when things work without having to mess about with fiddly code or trawl through help files that are aimed at the very experienced and provide little or no information to people who don’t know as much as the author.
For the past few hours I’ve been exploring ways of importing either a CSV or XML file from an affiliate site into WordPress. I’ve come across a lot of solutions and quite a few plugins that may be able to do the job, but whilst I understand the very basics of PHP, MySQL, XML etc I am certainly no expert and often find the instructions for such plugins or methods incomplete or incomprehensible.
Maybe one of my New Year resolutions should be to learn more about coding plugins and suchlike.
Anyway, whilst on my mission I came across a really neat plugin that is certainly worth sharing as I’m sure there are plenty of bloggers who could make use if it. It’s called Bulk Post Creator and was created by by Sarah from HowdyBlog. It allows you to quickly braindump ideas into your blog and create draft posts or pages based around the titles you might use.
I’ve often created blank draft posts for later use. In the past I’ve hit the new button, entered a title based upon the idea, created the post, saved it as a draft then repeated the process. With the Bulk Post Creator plugin you create multiple draft posts from one screen. Just enter a title for each draft (one per line), choose to save them as a page or post and hit the create button.
You will then have multiple drafts you can come back to at a later date. It’s an ideal way of quickly getting some ideas out of your head and into your blog.
Download it here or search for it from within WordPress.
