Google Chrome is my browser of choice, and it’s been that way since Firefox became a bloated, resource sucking beast. It was probably my fault I know, but once I tried Google Chrome I became hooked and decided I would only use Firefox when it was necessary to do so.
I have tried to steer clear of installing too many Chrome extensions in case it goes the same way as FF, but this is one that I have installed and will try out for a little while.
It is a simple proofreading tool created by After the Deadline. It monitors what you are typing into sites like Twitter, Facebook and WordPress posts and corrects grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
So far I have written one or two posts with it installed and although it hasn’t found any spelling mistakes (today I have been very accurate) it has found a couple of grammatical errors which it advised me to fix before proceeding.
Nice. I suggest you give it a go.
You can download it from Google here or you can get the version for Firefox.
UPDATE – It is now a week since I installed the After the Deadline extension for Chrome, and almost two days since I had to uninstall it. This isn’t because After the Deadline is a poor tool (far from it, I think AtD is an absolute must have tool for all bloggers), it is because of the cashing problems I experienced when I used it. Sad to say, but Chrome crashed almost every time.
The good news is that I have now switched to the WordPress plugin version, which provides a much more stable user experience (it is an Automattic product after all) and has not resulted in any crashed browsers.
