Google Chrome is now available for download – get it here.
The exe file is currently downloading – either this is a big file or the world and his brother is downloading it!
Page Update – Friday 15 April 2011
I came across this post again during a recent overhaul of my websites. I’m tempted to delete it because, in the eyes of Google, it offers no real value to the world. There are no thunderbolt insights or secret ways to make money. Just a reminder of the day I downloaded and installed (my now default browser) Google Chrome.
What amazes me most is that Google Chrome is two and a half years old – it only seems like a few days ago when I wrote this post. At that time Firefox was my default browser and it had been that way for a long time. I tried Chrome and I kind of liked it but not enough to ditch Firefox. That changed a little while later when Firefox became slower and slower during use and harder to rouse when opening.
One day, when Firefox ground to a halt, I switched over to Chrome and I’ve never looked back. It’s fast, it’s clean and you can search from the address bar. The new version of Firefox has slimmed down a little and offers many of the same features as Chrome, but I don’t think I’ll be switching back.
